I have installed Intel PRO+ Network Adapters in three computers. The two using Windows 98 and Windows 2000 Pro are working, but the one with Windows 95 gives the message 'The network is not accessible. For more information look in the Help Index at the topic Network Troubleshooter', whenever Network Neighborhood/Entire Network is selected. I have exhausted the suggestions in the Help topic. The Intel PRO+ diagnostics are all positive and packets can be transferred in both directions. Can you give me some ideas?

It's hard to troubleshoot a network at a distance as there are many possibilities, some of which can be quickly discounted if you can inspect the network concerned. A likely cause is that the wrong protocols are being used. Windows 95 defaults to using Microsoft NetBEUI as the protocol for peer networking, while 98 and 2000 default to TCP/IP.
NetBEUI is, on the whole, a better choice for file and printer sharing. It's also easier to get going, so check that this protocol is installed and bound to the network adapter on each computer, and that file and printer sharing is enabled on each computer and bound to NetBEUI. It's also a good idea to enable sharing on at least one folder on each computer. If you don't (because you only want a computer to access other computers' shares) it can sometimes take a while for the PC to become visible on the network.
